Job Description – Billing Engineer (MEP)

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Engineer – MEP to manage project billing, quantity estimation, measurement verification, and subcontractor billing for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works. The candidate should have knowledge of BOQ, billing documentation, cost control, and coordination with site and commercial teams to ensure accurate and timely bill submission.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and submit client bills, running account (RA) bills, and final bills for MEP works.
- Prepare, review, and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and quantity measurements.
- Verify site measurements for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and other MEP installations.
- Prepare and check subcontractor bills based on actual site progress and approved BOQ rates.
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, QS engineers, and the commercial team for billing approvals.
- Maintain records of work progress, measurements, invoices, and supporting documents.
- Prepare measurement sheets, reconciliation statements, and variation claims.
- Monitor additional works, extra items, and deviations from the approved BOQ.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, rate analysis, and budget comparisons.
- Ensure all bills are submitted within the stipulated timelines and comply with contract requirements.
- Follow up on bill certification, payment status, and outstanding amounts.




- Maintain proper documentation for audits and project financial records.
- Ensure billing quantities and rates comply with approved drawings, specifications, and contract terms.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
- Additional qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management will be an advantage.

Experience

- 3–5 years of experience in MEP billing and quantity surveying in construction projects.
- Experience in preparing client RA bills and subcontractor bills.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and firefighting systems is preferred.

Technical Skills

- Positive knowledge of BOQ, RA bills, final bills, and measurement sheets.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD for drawing and quantity verification.
- Familiarity with ERP billing systems is an advantage.
- Understanding of MEP drawings, specifications, contracts, and rate analysis.
- Strong documentation, calculation, and reconciliation skills.
