Job Summary

Raigad Hospital & Research Centre is looking for a skilled and responsible Biomedical Engineer to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot medical equipment across various hospital departments. The candidate will ensure the safe and efficient functioning of biomedical equipment through preventive maintenance, timely breakdown resolution, proper documentation, and coordination with equipment vendors and service providers.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of biomedical equipment to ensure proper functioning and reliability.
- Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and coordinate timely repairs to minimize disruption to patient care.
- Conduct regular inspections of medical equipment in ICU, NICU, OT, Emergency, Wards, Laboratory, Radiology, and other departments.
- Coordinate with authorized service providers and vendors for equipment installation, repair, calibration, and servicing.
- Maintain biomedical equipment inventory, asset registers, service reports, breakdown logs, warranty records, and maintenance schedules.
- Assist in the installation, testing, commissioning, and demonstration of new medical equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and report recurring faults, safety concerns, and major breakdowns to the reporting authority.
- Ensure equipment maintenance and calibration records are updated as per hospital procedures and applicable requirements.
- Coordinate with Nursing, OT, ICU, Radiology, Laboratory, and other departments to address equipment-related complaints.
- Guide hospital staff on the safe handling and basic operation of medical equipment, wherever required.
- Ensure faulty or unsafe equipment is reported,



appropriately labelled, and taken out of service until cleared for use.
- Support biomedical equipment audits, NABH-related documentation, and hospital quality and safety activities.
- Monitor equipment service contracts, warranties, and maintenance schedules and follow up with vendors.
- Follow hospital safety protocols and applicable manufacturer instructions during maintenance activities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Management related to biomedical engineering operations.

Educational Qualification

- B.E. / B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering preferred.
- Relevant diploma holders with suitable hospital equipment maintenance experience may be considered, depending on hospital requirements.

Experience

- 2–3 years of relevant experience in biomedical engineering, preferably in a multispecialty hospital.

Required Skills

- Practical knowledge of medical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance, calibration, and equipment safety.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Vendor coordination and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic computer knowledge, including MS Word and MS Excel.
- Good communication and coordination with clinical and non-clinical departments.
- Punctuality, discipline, skilled behaviour, and appropriate grooming.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Previous experience handling hospital biomedical equipment.
- Familiarity with NABH documentation and hospital equipment maintenance procedures.
- Ability to respond promptly to breakdowns and departmental complaints.
- Responsible, systematic, and safety-conscious approach to work.

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹380,000.00 per year
