Job Purpose

To carry out and supervise pharmaceutical packing activities in accordance with approved Batch Packing Records (BPR), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Valuable Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and applicable quality standards to ensure product quality, safety, and timely completion of packing operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Execute primary and secondary packing activities as per approved batch packing instructions.
- Operate packing machines such as blister packing, strip packing, bottle packing, labeling, and cartoning machines, as applicable.
- Perform line clearance before starting packing operations and after product or batch changeover, as per SOP.
- Verify product name, batch number, manufacturing date, expiry date, and other printed details before and during packing.
- Perform in-process checks for packaging quality, sealing, labeling, coding, and packaging integrity.
- Ensure proper issuance, identification, utilization, and reconciliation of packing materials.
- Maintain accurate and timely entries in Batch Packing Records, equipment logs, cleaning records, and other required documents.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, SOPs, and data integrity requirements.
- Monitor packing line performance, production output, rejection levels, and daily production targets.
- Coordinate with QA, Warehouse, Engineering,



and Production departments for smooth packing operations.
- Ensure proper segregation and identification of rejected products and defective packaging materials.
- Report deviations, breakdowns, product mix-ups, incorrect coding, and quality issues to the concerned supervisor immediately.
- Ensure proper cleaning of packing machines, equipment, and work areas as per approved procedures.
- Maintain good housekeeping, personal hygiene, and safety practices in the packing area.
- Assist in audits, investigations, CAPA activities, and implementation of corrective actions, as assigned.
- Ensure proper handover of ongoing activities, documents, and materials between shifts.

Skills

- Knowledge of pharmaceutical packing operations and packaging materials.
- Understanding of GMP, GDP, SOPs, and Batch Packing Records.
- knowledge for pharma cloud software
- Knowledge of line clearance, changeover, and material reconciliation.
- Basic knowledge of packing machine operation and troubleshooting.
- Good documentation, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to achieve production targets without compromising product quality.
- Time Management

The Packing Officer is responsible for ensuring that packing operations are performed according to approved procedures, all required checks and records are completed, and any quality-related concern is promptly reported to the Production Supervisor and QA. Product release decisions remain with the authorized Quality Unit.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
