Job Description – Quality Engineer (IATF 16949)

Job Title: Quality Engineer

Experience: 3–5 Years

Qualification: Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering or relevant Engineering discipline

Industry: Automotive / Manufacturing

Job Responsibilities

1. Implement and maintain IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

2. Prepare, review and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) documentation.

3. Handle APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC and MSA.

4. Conduct internal process audits, product audits and layered process audits as applicable.

5. Handle customer complaints, root cause analysis, CAPA and 8D reports.

6. Monitor incoming, in-process and final inspection activities.

7. Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and engineering drawings.

8. Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Maintenance and Supplier Quality teams.

9. Monitor rejection, PPM, rework and scrap data and implement corrective actions.

10. Support IATF surveillance audits,



customer audits and certification audits.

Required Skills

- Practical knowledge of IATF 16949:2016.

- Experience in automotive manufacturing quality.

- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC and MSA.

- Knowledge of 7 QC Tools, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram and 8D.

- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.;

- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer and Height Gauge.

- Positive documentation, problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Candidate

- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in automotive quality.

- Experience in IATF-certified manufacturing companies.

- Ability to independently handle QMS documentation, audits and customer complaints.

- Immediate joiners may be preferred.
