JOB DESCRIPTION – BAR WAITER

Job Title: Bar Waiter
Department: Food & Beverage (F&B;)
Reports To: Bar Captain / Bar Manager / F&B; Manager
Location: Govindapuram, Kozhikode, Kerala

1. Job Summary

The Bar Waiter is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests in the bar area. The role includes taking orders, serving beverages and food, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a pleasant and comfortable guest experience in accordance with hotel standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Welcome guests and provide courteous and professional service.
- Present menus, explain beverage options, and take food and beverage orders accurately.
- Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food items according to hotel standards.
- Coordinate with bartenders and kitchen staff to ensure timely order preparation and service.
- Ensure tables, chairs, counters, and the bar service area are clean and properly arranged.
- Set up and transparent tables before and after guest service.
- Monitor guest requirements and respond promptly to requests.
- Handle guest complaints politely and report issues to the Bar Captain or Manager.
- Prepare and maintain service stations with the required glassware, cutlery, napkins, and other supplies.
- Follow hotel hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards.
- Ensure responsible alcohol service in accordance with applicable laws and hotel policies.
- Verify guest eligibility for alcoholic beverages where required and report any concerns to the supervisor.




- Maintain professional grooming, personal hygiene, and a neat uniform.
- Assist with stock monitoring and report shortages or breakages to the supervisor.
- Follow hotel procedures for billing, order recording, and payment handling.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Bar Captain or F&B; Manager.

3. Qualifications and Requirements

- Minimum qualification: Plus Two or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or bar is preferred.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service.
- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Good teamwork, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- A professional attitude and willingness to learn.
