Job Summary

We are looking for qualified and motivated healthcare professionals for the position of Part-Time Medical Underwriting Doctor – Telephonic/Video MER. The selected candidates will conduct medical verification of health insurance applicants through telephonic and video consultations, assess their medical history, and prepare Medical Examination Reports (MER) in the prescribed format.

Candidates must have relevant medical knowledge, good communication skills, and access to a personal laptop.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and assess medical documents, health declarations, and medical disclosures submitted by health insurance applicants.
- Conduct telephonic and video-based medical verification of applicants.
- Ask relevant medical history questions and evaluate applicants' health profiles.
- Prepare accurate Medical Examination Reports (MER) based on the information collected.
- Record medical details and findings in the prescribed format and maintain proper documentation.
- Apply applicable medical underwriting guidelines to support accurate risk assessment and classification.
- Coordinate with internal teams regarding complex cases and additional medical information.
- Complete assigned telephonic and video MER cases within the expected turnaround time.
- Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and quality standards while handling applicants' medical information.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:

- BHMS – Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery




- BAMS – Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery
- BPT – Bachelor of Physiotherapy
- BUMS – Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery
- MBBS – Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
- BDS – Bachelor of Dental Surgery
- B.Pharm – Bachelor of Pharmacy

Preferred Skills:

- Good verbal communication and listening skills.
- Ability to understand medical history and health-related information.
- Basic computer knowledge and accurate data entry skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow prescribed guidelines.
- Prior experience in medical underwriting, insurance medical verification, teleconsultation, or MER preparation will be an advantage.

Working Hours & Schedule

- Working Hours: Minimum 4–5 hours per day.
- Shift Timing: Rotational roster shifts between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM.
- Weekly Off: Rotational.
- Public Holidays: Off on public holidays. If work is required on a public holiday, a compensatory off will be provided.
- Laptop: A personal laptop is mandatory for this role.

Compensation & Daily Target

Payment per completed case

Daily work: Minimum 15 cases per day.

Compensation is based on the number and type of cases completed. Actual earnings will depend on the case mix, completed cases, and applicable quality requirements.

Significant Requirement

Candidates must have their own laptop available for work. Applicants who do not have access to a laptop will not be eligible for this position.
