Job Description: Restaurant Waiter / Steward

1. Job Summary

The Waiter/Steward will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, taking food orders, serving food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness in the dining area, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for guests.

2. Key Job Responsibilities

A. Guest Service

- Welcome guests warmly and assist them with seating.
- Present menus, explain menu items, and provide recommendations when required.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate them to the kitchen.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
- Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.

B. Order Management

- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure accurate and timely order preparation.
- Confirm special requests and dietary preferences with the kitchen.
- Serve the correct dishes to the appropriate guests.
- Follow up on orders and address delays or incorrect orders promptly.

C. Table Management

- Prepare tables before service, including arranging cutlery, crockery, napkins, and other essentials.
- Explicit used plates, glasses, and cutlery promptly.
- Clean and reset tables after guests leave.
- Maintain proper table arrangements and dining area presentation.

D. Billing and Payment Assistance

- Present bills to guests and assist with payment collection when assigned.
- Coordinate with the cashier to ensure accurate billing.
- Handle cash and digital payments responsibly, where authorized.
- Ensure bills are correctly processed and handed over to guests.

E. Cleanliness and Hygiene

- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area and service stations.
- Follow personal hygiene, grooming, and food-handling standards.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of crockery, cutlery, and service equipment.
- Report spills, damaged equipment, and maintenance issues promptly.

F. Customer Complaint Handling

- Respond politely to guest queries, requests, and complaints.




- Inform the Restaurant Manager of complaints or service issues that require further attention.
- Maintain a courteous, patient, and professional attitude at all times.

G. Team Coordination

- Coordinate with the Restaurant Manager, kitchen team, cashier, and fellow service staff.
- Follow instructions from the Restaurant Manager and adhere to service procedures.
- Assist with takeaway packing and order dispatch when required.
- Support opening and closing activities, including cleaning and arranging the dining area.

Required Skills – Restaurant Waiter / Steward

· Education: Minimum Higher Secondary qualification preferred.

· Experience: Prior experience in a hotel or restaurant preferred;

· Communication: Good communication and guest-handling skills.

· Personality: Polite, humble, presentable, and customer-oriented.

· Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

· Work Ethic: Punctual, disciplined, honest, and willing to work in shifts.

· Operational Skills: Basic knowledge of food service, table setup, menu items, and hygiene standards.

· Order Management: Ability to take orders accurately and communicate them clearly to the kitchen.

· Food Service Skills: Knowledge of table setup, food serving, menu items, and proper service etiquette.

· Teamwork: Ability to coordinate effectively with the Restaurant Manager, kitchen staff, and fellow waiters.

· Personal Hygiene: Maintain proper grooming, cleanliness, and hygiene standards.

· Time Management: Ability to serve customers promptly, especially during busy hours.

· Problem-Solving: Handle customer requests and complaints calmly and professionally.

· Discipline and Reliability: Punctual, honest, responsible, and willing to work in shifts.

· Basic Billing Knowledge: Familiarity with bills, cash handling, and digital payments is an advantage.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹14,000.00 per month
