Job Role

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing team.

The role will involve shop-floor quality control, inspection, process monitoring and solving quality-related problems in coordination with the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor/Carry out first-piece, in-process and final inspection of components.
- Check dimensions using Vernier, Micrometer, Bore Gauge and other measuring instruments.
- Check components for dimensions, appearance, hardness, density and other quality requirements.
- Monitor quality during processes such as powder compaction, sintering, sizing and machining.
- Identify defective parts and work with the production team to identify the root cause.
- Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain inspection and quality records.
- Prepare inspection reports and other quality documents.
- Assist with customer complaints and corrective actions.
- Maintain calibration records for measuring instruments.
- Assist during internal and customer audits.
- Support new product trials and development activities.
- Monitor process quality and help reduce rejection and rework.

Quality System Knowledge

The candidate should have knowledge of:

- APQP – Advanced Product Quality Planning




- PFMEA – Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis
- SPC – Statistical Process Control
- MSA – Measurement System Analysis
- PPAP – Production Part Approval Process
- Control Plans
- 8D Problem Solving
- 5 Why / Fishbone Root Cause Analysis
- CAPA – Corrective & Preventive Action
- IATF 16949 requirements

Candidate Profile

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy or related field.
- 1–4 years of experience in manufacturing quality preferred.
- Experience in automotive or engineering component manufacturing will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings.
- Positive knowledge of measuring instruments.
- Working knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP and Control Plans.
- Basic understanding of IATF 16949.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel.
- Good observation and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to work on the shop floor and closely with the production team.

Experience in sintered components or powder metallurgy will be an advantage, but is not compulsory.
