Trust & Estate Attorney — U.S. and Offshore Trust Support

Redberry Financial is seeking an experienced India-qualified attorney with a strong background in U.S. estate planning and offshore/Caribbean trusts. This role supports the creation, funding, and administration of revocable and irrevocable trusts, along with comprehensive planning for lifetime needs, incapacity, and wealth transfer.

U.S. licensure is not required for this support position. Work involving U.S. or other foreign law will be performed under the direction and review of appropriately licensed counsel.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and revise complex revocable and irrevocable trust agreements, amendments, restatements, and related documents for counsel’s review.
- Coordinate trust funding, including asset inventories, ownership transfers, property retitling, beneficiary designations, and supporting documentation.
- Support comprehensive estate plans involving wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, incapacity planning, and succession arrangements.
- Research trustee powers and fiduciary obligations; prepare guidance and correspondence for review by supervising counsel.
- Support probate-avoidance planning and lawful asset-protection strategies, including research on creditor rights and transfer restrictions.
- Assist with establishing and administering offshore and Caribbean trusts, coordinating with local counsel, qualified trustees, and other service providers.
- Collaborate with U.S. attorneys, tax professionals, financial advisors,



and trustees on cross-border planning and implementation.
- Maintain accurate matter records, document checklists, deadlines, and confidential client information.

Required Qualifications

- LL.B. or equivalent law degree and qualification to practice law in India.
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience supporting U.S. trusts and estate planning matters.
- Direct experience with offshore/Caribbean trust structures, including formation, funding, or administration.
- Strong legal drafting, research, and document-review skills.
- Practical understanding of revocable versus irrevocable trusts, trust funding, trustee responsibilities, probate, and incapacity planning.
- Familiarity with U.S. tax and foreign-trust reporting considerations, with the ability to identify matters requiring specialist tax advice.
- Excellent written and spoken English, attention to detail, and discretion.
- Availability for scheduled overlap with U.S. business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting a U.S. estate planning law firm, trust company, family office, or wealth advisory practice.
- Experience with Caribbean jurisdictions such as Nevis, the Cayman Islands, or the Bahamas.
- STEP qualification, an LL.M. in a relevant field, or additional trust and estate planning credentials.
- Experience handling estate plans involving real estate, business interests, and multigenerational wealth.

Scope of the Role

This is a legal drafting, research, and administration support role. Independent legal advice, legal opinions, and representation requiring local admission will remain with appropriately licensed counsel.
