We are looking for a curious, detail-oriented Textile Design & Fashion Researcher to support our design and product development teams. The role involves researching global fashion brands, identifying emerging trends, and finding strong design references that align with the organisation’s creative direction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Global Brand & Design Research
● Research a wide range of fashion brands across international and Indian markets, covering established labels, emerging designers, and relevant retailers.
● Study their latest collections, textile designs, prints, patterns, colour palettes, motifs, and fabric treatments.
● Update research daily with new launches, collection updates, and relevant design developments.
● Maintain an organised, searchable reference library categorised by brand, season, product category, print style, and design theme.
2. Trend Research & Fashion Forecasting
● Track fashion forecasts, international runway shows, fashion weeks, trade fairs, street style, and relevant digital platforms.
● Stay up to date with developments in textile design, fashion, prints, colours, fabrics, embroidery, and surface embellishments.
● Identify recurring themes and emerging trends, assessing their relevance to the organisation’s products and target customers.
● Present findings through clear mood boards, trend reports, and visual presentations that help the design team develop current collections.
3. Research Based on Design Briefs
● Work from designs, images, concepts, themes, or references provided by the organisation.
● Find similar and related design directions, researching the strongest examples across brands, collections, and other relevant sources.
● Explore suitable variations in motifs, layouts, scales, colour combinations, and techniques to help the team develop each concept further.
● Curate focused, high-quality references that match the brief and support original design development.
● Record source links, brand names, and collection details so references can be traced and reviewed.
4. Collaboration & Reporting
● Work closely with the design, merchandising, and product development teams to understand research requirements and priorities.
● Share daily research updates and prepare weekly summaries of key trends and opportunities.
● Manage multiple research briefs and deliver relevant findings within agreed timelines.
