Job Description: Maintenance In-Charge

Job Title: Maintenance In-Charge
Department: Fleet Maintenance / Engineering
Location: MUTSPL Bus Depots, Mumbai
Reporting To: Depot In-Charge / Workshop Manager
Experience: Minimum 2 Years in Fleet Maintenance and Depot Operations
Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, or Electrical Engineering. Relevant technical qualifications may be considered based on experience.

Job Responsibilities:

- Manage daily bus maintenance activities and ensure maximum fleet availability.
- Supervise mechanics, auto electricians, and other maintenance staff.
- Monitor preventive and scheduled maintenance of buses.
- Ensure timely repair of mechanical, electrical, and other technical issues.
- Attend to bus breakdowns and coordinate immediate corrective action.
- Ensure all buses are roadworthy and secure before deployment.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, spare parts, and service schedules.
- Monitor staff attendance, work allocation, productivity, and shift handovers.
- Coordinate with the Depot In-Charge and Operations Team to ensure the timely availability of buses.
- Identify recurring technical issues and implement corrective measures to minimize breakdowns.
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and spare parts.




- Follow all safety procedures and ensure that buses with critical safety defects are not deployed.
- Maintain workshop discipline, housekeeping, and compliance with company procedures.

Required Skills:

- Strong knowledge of bus maintenance and fleet operations.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Team handling and staff supervision.
- Ability to manage breakdowns and maintenance schedules.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work in shifts and handle operational requirements.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in fleet maintenance, bus maintenance, or depot workshop operations.
- Experience in handling commercial vehicles or public transport fleets will be preferred.
- Candidates should be capable of managing daily maintenance activities independently.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Fleet availability and bus roadworthiness.
- Reduction in breakdowns and repeat repairs.
- Timely completion of preventive maintenance.
- Maintenance quality and turnaround time.
- Proper maintenance records and spare-parts control.
- Safety compliance and team productivity.
