Job Summary

Yashoda Hospital is seeking a skilled, compassionate, and responsible NICU Staff Nurse to provide specialized nursing care to newborn babies, including premature, low-birth-weight, and critically ill neonates. The candidate should have sound clinical knowledge, neonatal care experience, and the ability to work efficiently in a critical care environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide specialized nursing care to newborns admitted to the NICU.
- Monitor and record vital signs, oxygen saturation, temperature, and other clinical parameters of neonates.
- Assist in the care of premature, low-birth-weight, and critically ill newborns.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and prescribed treatments accurately as per doctors' orders.
- Monitor and maintain incubators, radiant warmers, phototherapy units, CPAP machines, and other neonatal equipment.
- Assist doctors during neonatal resuscitation and emergency management within the scope of training and authorization.
- Maintain accurate nursing notes, medication charts, intake-output records, and patient care documentation.
- Follow strict infection prevention, hand hygiene, and aseptic techniques.
- Support feeding practices, including breastfeeding, expressed breast milk,



and tube feeding as prescribed.
- Educate and counsel parents regarding newborn care, feeding, hygiene, and infection prevention.
- Ensure proper handover of patients during shift changes.
- Coordinate with neonatologists, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, patient safety standards, and NICU quality guidelines.

Qualifications and Requirements

- GNM or B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution
- Previous NICU experience preferred.
- Knowledge of neonatal monitoring, infection control, and emergency care.
- Valuable communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
