About the Role

Autism Center of Excellence LLC is a U.S.-based organization providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services to children with autism spectrum disorder.

We are looking for an experienced Medical Records Auditor – Clinical Documentation & Compliance to review clinical records, audit ABA therapy documentation, identify compliance gaps, and coordinate corrective actions with our U.S.-based clinical, billing, and operations teams.

This role requires practical experience in ABA clinical documentation auditing and is not suitable for candidates with only general medical records or administrative experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Audit daily ABA therapy session notes completed by RBTs, BTs, and BCBAs.
- Review treatment plans, initial and reassessment evaluations, progress reports, behavior intervention plans, and parent/caregiver training notes.
- Identify incomplete documentation, missing signatures, inconsistencies, outdated records, and other compliance gaps.
- Verify documentation against applicable payer requirements, authorized services, treatment goals, and organizational standards.
- Communicate audit findings and required corrections to the relevant clinical team members.
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly audit trackers and compliance reports.
- Follow up on outstanding corrections and monitor recurring documentation errors.
- Support root-cause analysis, corrective actions, quality improvement, and internal audit preparation.
- Escalate significant documentation or compliance concerns to U.S. clinical leadership.
- Collaborate with BCBAs, Clinical Directors, billing personnel, and operations teams.
- Maintain the confidentiality of protected health information in accordance with HIPAA requirements and company policies.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or master's degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience,



including substantial hands-on ABA clinical documentation auditing.
- Proven experience reviewing ABA session notes and clinical records.
- Solid understanding of ABA terminology, treatment plans, clinical documentation, and insurance documentation requirements.
- Experience identifying documentation deficiencies and coordinating corrective actions.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with U.S.-based clinical and operations teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, audit trackers, and reporting tools.
- Willingness to work the U.S. night shift from India.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with CentralReach or similar electronic health record systems.
- Exposure to internal audits, payer audits, clinical quality assurance, or compliance reviews.
- Experience preparing audit summaries and tracking corrective actions.

- Completion of assigned audits within established timelines.
- Accuracy and consistency of audit findings.
- Timely identification and escalation of critical deficiencies.
- Follow-up and closure of corrective actions.
- Reduction in recurring documentation errors.
- Accuracy of audit trackers and management reports.
- Quality of communication and coordination with U.S. teams.

Who Should Apply?

Candidates without hands-on ABA clinical documentation auditing experience will not be considered suitable for this position. General medical billing, coding, HR, administrative, or academic psychology experience alone is insufficient.
