We hire on your work, not your CV. Show us the one piece you are proudest of and tell us why. If your work is strong, we want to see it. If it isn't yet, this role is not the right fit.

About us

Omara Technologies is a GovTech company working with government bodies and welfare schemes in West Bengal. We are building a small in-house video team to cover our work on the ground and tell the stories behind public policy.

The role

We are hiring two full-time Videographer / Filmmakers: one based in Kolkata and one based in Siliguri. You will own every piece end to end: plan, shoot, edit, colour grade and deliver. There is no separate editor or colourist.

What you will do

- Live coverage: shoot events, launches, meetings, field visits and press moments, and deliver same-day cuts and social clips
- Policy storytelling: plan, shoot and edit short documentaries, explainers and interviews with beneficiaries, officials and stakeholders that make policy easy to understand
- Edit and colour grade in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve, including audio clean-up, subtitles (English/Bengali) and easy motion graphics
- Deliver vertical and horizontal formats for Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and WhatsApp
- Organise, back up and archive footage
- General video work: interviews, B-roll, product demos and internal content

You must have

- Finished work that you personally shot, edited and colour graded
- Strong editing in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve (both is a plus)
- Real colour grading skills: LOG footage, LUTs used with judgement, matched shots across cameras, natural skin tones
- Clean audio: wireless/lav mics and well set-up interviews
- Comfort shooting live and unscripted in offices, field locations and public settings
- Bengali plus Hindi and/or English; Nepali is a plus for the Siliguri role
- Willingness to travel frequently across West Bengal for shoots

This role is not for you if

- You only shoot and hand footage to someone else to edit, or only edit other people's footage
- Your best work is a template edit, stock-footage montage or trend reel
- You cannot show work you colour graded yourself
- You are not interested in real people, public issues or documentary-style storytelling

What strong work looks like to us

- A clear story with a beginning, middle and end, not just pretty shots
- Deliberate camera work: steady, well composed, well exposed
- Consistent, natural grade and clean, audible sound
- Interview, documentary, news or event work is a big plus

Pay and equipment

We pay above the local market for quality. Pay depends on your work and on whether you bring your own kit:

- Using company-provided equipment: Rs 22,000 to 27,000 per month
- Bringing your own kit (4K mirrorless or cinema camera, 2+ lenses, wireless mics, gimbal or tripod, basic lights, editing laptop): up to Rs 35,000 per month, including an equipment allowance

Travel and shoot expenses are reimbursed.

How we hire

- Step 1: We watch the one piece you are proudest of and read why. We do not read CVs.
- Step 2: Shortlisted applicants do a short paid practical test (Rs 1,000): we share raw footage and you cut and grade a 60 to 90 second story.
- Step 3: A conversation with the team about your work.

How to apply

Apply directly on Indeed. No CV needed. In the application question, share a link to the single piece of work you are most proud of and tell us why, what you personally did on it, and which software you used.
