Overview

PENNEP is looking for an experienced and customer-oriented Optometrist to join our client's optical retail team in Jalandhar. The candidate will be responsible for conducting eye tests, assessing customers' vision requirements, recommending suitable spectacles and lenses, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct eye examinations, visual acuity tests, and refraction assessments within the scope of qualified qualifications.
- Assess customers' vision requirements and recommend suitable spectacle prescriptions.
- Explain prescription details and recommend appropriate lenses, including single-vision, bifocal, and progressive lenses.
- Assist customers in selecting suitable eyeglass frames, lenses, and other optical products according to their needs and budget.
- Take accurate measurements required for spectacle fitting, including pupillary distance.
- Ensure proper fitting, alignment, and comfort of spectacles.
- Coordinate with optical laboratories and suppliers for lens orders, delivery, and quality checks.
- Maintain accurate customer records, prescriptions, and optical order details.
- Handle customer queries, fitting complaints, and after-sales service professionally.
- Identify symptoms requiring further medical evaluation and refer customers to an ophthalmologist or appropriate healthcare professional when necessary.
- Maintain eye-testing equipment and ensure its proper handling.
- Support customer satisfaction and ethical sales activities within the optical showroom.

Required Qualifications

- B.Optom (Bachelor of Optometry) preferred.
- Candidates with a relevant Diploma in Optometry may be considered, subject to the role requirements and applicable regulations.
- Practical knowledge of eye testing, refraction, and spectacle prescriptions.

Required Skills





- 3 years of relevant work experience in optometry, an optical showroom, or an eye-care centre.
- Strong knowledge of optical lenses, frames, and fitting procedures.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in eye testing and measurements.
- Customer-focused approach with a professional attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a retail optical environment.

Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
