1. Job Summary

Provost Contrives is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer – Sheetmetal Tool Design to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in CAD software, sheetmetal design, tooling concepts, and engineering drawing development. The candidate will be responsible for creating and modifying 3D models, developing detailed 2D drawings, and ensuring design accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with engineering specifications.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop sheetmetal tools, dies, components, and related mechanical parts as per project requirements.
- Create and modify 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using CATIA, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
- Develop sheetmetal components considering material thickness, bending, forming, cutting, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Support tooling design, component development, and design modifications based on project requirements.
- Check dimensions, tolerances, clearances, and overall design accuracy.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to resolve design-related issues.
- Make necessary design changes based on feedback, engineering standards, and production requirements.
- Maintain design documentation, drawings, and CAD files in an organized manner.
- Ensure designs meet quality standards, project timelines, and manufacturing requirements.

3. Required Skills

- Hands-on experience in CATIA,



SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of sheetmetal design, tooling concepts, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to create and interpret 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Understanding of dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and GD&T; basics.
- Knowledge of sheetmetal operations such as bending, punching, blanking, and forming.
- Robust analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet project deadlines.

4. Preferred Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in sheetmetal component design or sheetmetal tool design.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods, tooling development, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with engineering standards and quality requirements.

5. Experience Requirements

- Minimum 1+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design or sheetmetal tool design.
- Practical experience in CAD modelling, drawing creation, and design modifications.
- Candidates with relevant hands-on experience in sheetmetal tooling and manufacturing environments will be preferred.

6. Notice Period

Candidates who can join immediately or within 15 days will be preferred.
