Job Summary

Automech is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer for its Chakan assembly plant. The candidate will be responsible for managing IATF 16949 documentation, maintaining assembly quality, handling customer complaints, submitting corrective action reports, and ensuring compliance with customer-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities

· Maintain all IATF 16949 documentation, SOPs, work instructions, and quality records.

· Prepare and update PFD, PFMEA, Control Plans, and other required quality documents.

· Prepare for IATF and customer audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.

· Handle customer complaints and submit 8D reports and corrective actions within deadlines.

· Monitor assembly quality, torque values, torque traceability, and process compliance.

· Ensure in-process and final inspections are performed as per the Control Plan.

· Maintain calibration, gauge control, MSA, and inspection records.

· Coordinate with Production and Maintenance to identify root causes and prevent recurring defects.

· Monitor rejection, rework, and customer quality performance and implement corrective actions.

· Maintain APQP,



PPAP, and other core quality documents as per customer and IATF requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

· 4–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering in the automotive industry.

· Must have faced at least 2 IATF 16949 audits.

· Hands-on experience in customer complaints, 8D reports, and corrective action closure.

· Valuable knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 requirements and QMS documentation.

· Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plans.

· Understanding of assembly processes, torque control, inspection methods, and traceability.

· Good knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and quality reporting.

Preferred Candidate Profile

· Experience in automotive assembly operations, preferably axle or suspension assemblies.

· Experience with automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.

· Ability to independently manage QMS documentation, customer complaints, and audit readiness.

· Willingness to coordinate with relevant departments to resolve quality issues.
