Key Responsibilities
Corporate and commercial drafting
1. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, including manufacturing, supply and licensing agreements
2. Drafting shareholders' agreements, debenture agreements and related transaction documents
3. Preparing corporate-commercial documentation such as board and shareholder resolutions, notices and ancillary deeds
4. Preparing legal opinions, notices and correspondence
Litigation and dispute resolution
1. Drafting pleadings, including plaints, written statements, petitions, counter-affidavits, applications and appeals
2. Appearing in and conducting hearings before civil courts, the High Court, tribunals and other judicial and quasi-judicial forums
3. Tracking matters, managing case files and coordinating with clients and counsel
Tamil-language work
1. Reading and interpreting legal documents in Tamil, including title deeds, revenue records, pleadings and orders
2. Drafting correspondence and documents in Tamil where required
Qualifications and Skills Required
1. LL.B. (3-year or 5-year) from a recognised university
2. Enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry,
or eligible to practise in Tamil Nadu
3. At least 1.5 years of post-qualification experience in litigation and/or corporate-commercial practice
4. Strong legal drafting skills in English
5. Ability to read, write and interpret legal documents in Tamil
6. Working knowledge of civil procedure and the conduct of court proceedings
Preferred
1. Knowledge of Hindi
2. Exposure to both transactional drafting and court practice
