Job Summary

Birlasoft is looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong expertise in test automation, software quality engineering, and automation framework development. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Java-based automation, Selenium, API testing, and CI/CD integration to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts and frameworks.

- Build and enhance automation frameworks using Java and Selenium WebDriver.

- Develop and execute automated functional, regression, integration, and smoke test suites.

- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman and REST Assured.

- Work with TestNG/JUnit, Maven, and Cucumber (BDD) for test execution and automation.

- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.

- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and DevOps teams.

- Identify, report, track, and troubleshoot defects using defect management tools.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and release activities.

- Ensure test coverage, maintain automation scripts, and continuously improve testing efficiency.

Mandatory Skills




- 5+ years of experience in Software Testing / SDET.

- Solid hands-on experience with Java and Selenium WebDriver.

- Experience in automation framework development and maintenance.

- Proficiency in TestNG or JUnit.

- Hands-on experience with Maven and Cucumber.

- Strong understanding of functional, regression, and integration testing.

- Experience with API testing and REST services.

- Knowledge of Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline integration.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Rest Assured, Postman, and SQL.

- Exposure to Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket.

- Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter.

- Exposure to Docker, cloud platforms, or distributed applications.

- Experience with banking or financial services domain is an advantage.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
