Role Description The Battery Management Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating battery management systems for advanced energy storage applications. Day-to-day activities include working with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, implementing BMS algorithms, testing and troubleshooting hardware and embedded software, assembly of battery cells, and optimizing performance, safety, and reliability. The engineer will collaborate closely with electrical, software, and materials teams to integrate batteries and BMS into larger energy systems and support prototype builds and manufacturing transfer. This is a full-time, in office role based in Tenkasi, requiring hands-on work with laboratory setups, test equipment, and real-world system deployments.
Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of Battery Management Systems and practical experience working with various types of batteries and energy storage systems.
• Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering, including circuit design, power electronics, sensing, and protection for battery-based systems.
• Proficiency in Software Development for control and monitoring applications, with experience in Python or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience in Embedded Software development for microcontrollers or embedded platforms used in BMS implementations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience with battery modeling, SOC/ SOH estimation, thermal management, and safety standards for energy storage systems is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with testing and validation tools, lab instrumentation, and data analysis for performance characterization.
• Ability to work on-site in Tenkasi, collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, and communicate technical information clearly.
• Prior exposure to industrial energy systems, automotive or stationary storage applications, or smart infrastructure projects is an advantage.
