About the Role
Newton School of Technology is looking for an industry skilled with 1–3 years of hands-on experience in blockchain development, cryptocurrency, Web3, or applied cryptography. The ideal candidate should have practical experience building blockchain-based applications, developing and deploying smart contracts, and applying cryptographic principles to real-world problems. The candidate should be able to translate industry experience into practical learning opportunities, guiding undergraduate students from foundational cryptography to blockchain development and secure decentralized applications.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, test, and deploy smart contracts using Solidity and relevant blockchain development frameworks.
• Demonstrate practical applications of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, decentralized applications (dApps), and Web3 technologies.
• Teach cryptographic fundamentals, including hashing, digital signatures, public-key cryptography, RSA, and Diffie–Hellman.
• Guide students in implementing cryptographic workflows and building simplified blockchain systems using Python.
• Explain blockchain architecture, transactions, Merkle trees, consensus mechanisms, and how distributed systems establish trust and data integrity.
• Mentor students in building hands-on projects, including smart contracts, decentralized applications, and prototypes addressing real-world trust and security problems.
• Demonstrate smart contract testing, debugging, common vulnerabilities, and secure development practices.
• Support students in developing, deploying, testing, and presenting end-to-end technical projects.
• Collaborate with academic and technical teams to design practical labs, assignments, assessments, and project-based learning experiences.
• Stay updated on emerging developments in blockchain, cryptocurrency, Web3, applied cryptography, and smart contract security. Required Qualification:
• 1–3 years of relevant hands-on experience in blockchain development, cryptocurrency, Web3, applied cryptography, or secure systems engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of Solidity and Ethereum or other relevant blockchain platforms.
• Practical experience developing, testing, debugging, and deploying smart contracts or blockchain-based applications.
• Understanding of cryptographic fundamentals, including hashing, digital signatures, public-key cryptography, and secure key management.
• Familiarity with blockchain architecture, transactions, distributed ledgers, and consensus mechanisms.
• Programming experience in Python and/or Solidity, with the ability to implement and explain practical solutions.
• Familiarity with tools such as Remix, Hardhat, Foundry, Ethers.js, Web3.js, or Python cryptographic libraries.
• Understanding of smart contract vulnerabilities and secure development practices.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical mentoring skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts through practical examples. Preferred Qualification:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• A demonstrable portfolio of blockchain, cryptography, or Web3 projects, including GitHub repositories, working prototypes, or deployed smart contracts.
• Experience conducting technical workshops, mentoring students, or delivering technical presentations.
• Experience designing hands-on technical assignments or guiding project-based learning.
• Familiarity with blockchain security auditing and decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.
