Quality & Compliance Manager – Hospital Pharmacy OperationsLocation: Nashik (HQ), Maharashtra Type: Full-time, on-site
Experience:
5–8 years Travel: 40–50%
About us
We are a Nashik-headquartered healthcare services organisation that runs end-to-end pharmacy operations for hospitals: people, inventory, compliance and technology. We manage pharmacies across Maharashtra and neighbouring states, backed by a group with decades of experience in pharmaceutical distribution. We are growing, and we are building the systems and teams to grow well. The roleWe are looking for a hands-on Quality & Compliance Manager to keep every pharmacy in our network inspection-ready, every day. You will own our quality system, run the audit cycle, oversee controlled-substance compliance, support accreditation at our partner hospitals and make sure findings become lasting fixes. This is a field role. You will spend a large part of your month at pharmacy sites, not behind a desk.
What you'll do
• Quality system and documentation: Write, review and maintain SOPs, quality manuals, forms and registers with proper version control. Adapt them for hospital, retail and wholesale pharmacy settings.
• Internal audits: Plan and run a monthly audit cycle across all pharmacy sites, including surprise and night-shift audits. Consolidate branch self-audits, track findings and report trends to leadership.
• Controlled substances: Oversee end-to-end NDPS and Schedule H1 / X compliance: receipt, storage, registers, dispensing and reconciliation. Run periodic compliance reporting from designated sites.
• Dispensing errors, investigations and retraining: Maintain dispensing-error logs and lead fact-finding, root cause analysis and CAPA for incidents. After every significant error or investigation, retrain the pharmacy team on site, re-assess their understanding and check later that the corrective action has held.
• Inspections and accreditation: Prepare sites for Drug Control / FDA inspections.
Support partner hospitals with NABH preparation for pharmacy and medication management. Represent the pharmacy function at hospital Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee meetings.
• Supplier and principal audits: Lead readiness for audits by pharmaceutical and medical-device manufacturers and close non-conformities with documented evidence.
• Cold chain: Manage temperature-monitoring devices, the calibration calendar and certificates across sites.
• Current-site readiness: Run compliance checks and a pre-launch audit before every new pharmacy goes live.
• Compliance training: Run compliance and inspection-readiness sessions for pharmacy teams. Feed audit findings into the training programme and review training content for technical accuracy. Travel and working conditionsPlease read this carefully. Travel is a core part of the role, not an occasional add-on.
• 20–30% travel: roughly 5–6 working days every month at pharmacy sites across Maharashtra (including the Mumbai and Pune regions) and in neighbouring states.
• Multi-day trips with overnight stays are routine.
• Hospital pharmacies run 24x7, so you will do periodic night-shift audits.
• Audits are often unannounced. Your schedule must stay flexible, and on-site days can run long when detailed verification is needed.
• Travel and stay are covered as per company policy. What it takes to succeed
• You can walk into any pharmacy unannounced and know within the hour where the risks are.
• You write clearly.
A pharmacist on a night shift can follow an SOP or audit report you drafted without needing to call you.
• You are firm on compliance but coach rather than police. Teams get better after your visit, not just nervous before it.
• You close the loop: every finding becomes a corrective action, and every corrective action gets checked.
• You are credible in front of hospital quality heads, manufacturer auditors and drug inspectors.
• You can run audits, investigations, retraining and documentation in parallel without dropping any of them. Requirements
• B.
Pharm, M.
Pharm or PharmD. Registration with the State Pharmacy Council is preferred. B.
Pharm + MBA (Operations, Healthcare or Quality) is equally welcome.
• 5–8 years in hospital pharmacy, a pharmacy retail chain or pharmaceutical quality, with at least 2 years of hands-on audit, inspection or accreditation work.
• Working knowledge of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act and Rules, the NDPS Act, Schedules H / H1 / X, NABH medication-management standards, cold-chain practice and RCA/CAPA.
• NABH internal assessor or ISO 9001 internal auditor training is a strong plus.
• Excellent written English. Fluent in Hindi and Marathi.
• Proficient in MS Excel and Word. Comfortable working in a pharmacy ERP.
• Based in Nashik or willing to relocate, and fully comfortable with the travel described above. Why join us
• Own a function end to end in a growing healthcare organisation.
• Work directly with senior leadership. Your recommendations get decided on, not lost in layers.
• Broad exposure across hospital, retail and distribution settings.
• Competitive salary plus travel support.
