Job Purpose: We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Chartering to lead and optimize our shipping and fixtures portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise across dry bulk, breakbulk, and project cargo, driving profitability through effective vessel employment, contract negotiation, and operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities
• Chartering & Strategy: Formulate and execute employment strategies for all types of vessels, including bulk, dry bulk, and project cargo.
• Fixture Execution: Negotiate and execute Contracts of Affreightment (COAs), ensuring commercial terms protect the company's interests.
• Vessel Broking: Actively broker vessels for both Time Charter (TC) and Voyage Charter markets to maximize fleet utilization and revenue.
• Operations Oversight: Manage complete commercial vessel operations, ensuring seamless coordination in Indian ports as well as international overseas ports.
• Market Intelligence: Analyse global shipping markets, bunker prices,



and freight trends to identify profitable trade routes and arbitrage opportunities.
• Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with shipowners, cargo charterers, international brokers, and port agents. Required Experience & Expertise:

Experience:
Minimum 8+ years of core chartering experience within a ship owning, operating, or major commodity trading firm.
• Vessel Domain: Proven track record handling bulk, dry bulk, and project/breakbulk cargo vessels.
• Contractual Expertise: Solid proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and executing COA, Time Charter, and Voyage Charter parties.
• Operational Knowledge: Comprehensive, hands-on knowledge of vessel operations, port disbursements, laytime calculations, demurrage/despatch claims, and navigation rules in both Indian and overseas ports.
• Network: An existing, robust network of global shipbrokers, owners, and cargo operators.
