Role Description The Medical Coding Team Lead is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing daily medical coding operations and ensuring accurate, compliant coding across assigned workflows. This role includes supervising and mentoring a team of medical coders, assigning work, monitoring productivity, and conducting quality audits to maintain coding standards. The Team Lead collaborates with management and cross-functional teams to resolve coding-related issues, optimize processes, and support training initiatives. Additional responsibilities may include reviewing complex cases, staying updated on regulatory changes and coding guidelines,



and contributing to documentation and reporting that improve operational efficiency. Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong Medical Coding experience, with proven accuracy and familiarity with standard coding guidelines.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology and Health Information Management principles to support precise documentation and coding decisions.
• Candidates should possess credentials such as RHIT or equivalent certification in Health Information Management or medical coding.
• Candidates should possess prior Coding Experience in a leadership or senior coder capacity, including mentoring or supervising team members.
• Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret clinical documentation and apply appropriate codes.
• Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work remotely and coordinate with distributed teams.
• Candidates should possess proficiency with medical coding software, EHR systems, and basic productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, documentation platforms).
• A diploma or degree in Health Information Management, medical coding, or a related healthcare field is preferred; experience in back-office or managed operations environments is an advantage.
