About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and technically sound Quality Manager – Solar Ground Mount (C&I;) to lead and manage Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) activities for our Solar Ground-Mounted Commercial & Industrial projects. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in solar EPC project execution, quality management systems, site inspections, material quality assessments, testing and commissioning. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that project execution and installation activities comply with approved engineering designs, client specifications, applicable quality standards and regulatory requirements. Key Roles &

Responsibilities:
1. Quality Planning & Management
• Prepare and implement Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and method statements for solar projects.
• Establish and maintain quality management systems in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements and project specifications. 2. Civil, Mechanical & Electrical Quality
• Develop and implement quality inspection checklists for civil, mechanical and electrical activities.
• Monitor piling, pull-out and lateral load tests, foundation inspections, concrete cube testing, MMS erection, structural alignment and torque checks.
• Ensure quality compliance throughout project execution. 3. Material & Vendor Quality
• Plan and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and pre-dispatch inspections for PV modules, inverters, transformers, MMS structures, cables and switchgear.
• Verify incoming materials against approved technical specifications, test certificates and applicable BIS/IEC requirements.
• Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quality performance. 4. Solar Module Quality & Electrical Testing
• Ensure proper handling and installation of solar modules as per OEM guidelines.
• Coordinate Electroluminescence (EL) and IV-curve testing wherever specified.
• Supervise insulation resistance, polarity, string Voc/Isc, earthing resistance, transformer and switchgear testing. 5. Testing, Commissioning & Compliance
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate CEIG/CEA inspections and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and third-party inspection agencies. 6.



Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
• Identify, raise, track and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce recurring defects, rework and quality deviations. 7. Audits, Documentation & MIS
• Conduct internal quality audits and coordinate client, consultant and third-party quality audits.
• Maintain inspection records, testing reports, calibration records, quality registers and project quality dossiers.
• Prepare and monitor quality KPIs, including NCR status, inspection progress, first-pass yield and audit findings. 8. Team Management & Continuous Improvement
• Lead and guide QA/QC engineers and inspectors across project sites.
• Train site engineers, supervisors and subcontractors on quality requirements.
• Share project learnings and implement measures to improve overall quality performance. Required Qualifications & Experience
• B.
E. / B.
Tech in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering from a recognised institute.
• 5–10 years of overall professional experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant QA/QC experience, preferably in Solar EPC project execution.
• Strong exposure to utility-scale and ground-mounted solar power projects.
• Hands-on experience in site inspections, material quality, testing and commissioning.
• Experience in managing QA/QC teams, vendors and subcontractors. Technical Skills & Competencies
• Solid understanding of QA/QC processes, Project Quality Plans, ITPs and ISO 9001.
• Knowledge of IEC 61215, IEC 61730, IEC 62446, relevant IS codes and CEA regulations.
• Experience in civil, mechanical and electrical quality inspections.
• Knowledge of RCA, 5-Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, CAPA and Pareto Analysis.
• Working knowledge of solar PV modules, inverters, MMS structures and solar plant installation.




• Proficiency in MS Excel for inspection trackers, NCR logs and KPI dashboards.
• Ability to prepare quality reports, audit documentation and management presentations.
• Strong communication, coordination and team leadership skills. Preferred / Additional Exposure
• ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
• Solar PV quality and inspection certifications.
• NDT Level II or Welding Quality / Civil QA/QC certifications.
• Experience working with large Independent Power Producers (IPPs).
• Exposure to PSU/Government solar tenders, including SECI, NTPC and State Renewable Energy Agencies.
• Experience handling Owner's Engineer audits and third-party inspections.
• Exposure to pooling substations and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. Key Performance Parameters
• Compliance with approved Project Quality Plans and inspection standards.
• Timely completion of material, civil, mechanical and electrical inspections.
• Reduction in quality defects, rework and recurring non-conformities.
• Timely closure of NCRs and implementation of CAPA.
• Successful completion of internal, client and third-party quality audits.
• Accurate and timely submission of quality documentation and project handover dossiers.
