Data Quality Engineer Python + ETL Automation

Experience:
Demonstrated experience in data quality engineering, ETL/DWH testing, and test automation, with the capability to lead quality-engineering initiatives and coordinate a mid-sized QA team. Role Overview The Data Quality Engineer will design and implement robust test automation for data pipelines and data warehouse solutions. The role combines hands-on engineering, quality governance, stakeholder collaboration, and team coordination in an agile delivery workplace. Core Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for data pipelines using Python or PySpark.
• Validate ETL and data warehouse workflows through comprehensive data, integration, and regression testing.
• Use SQL to analyze source and target data, identify discrepancies, and verify transformation logic.
• Read, understand, and modify stored procedures, preferably in Oracle environments.
• Create and maintain BDD-based test automation using Cucumber or a comparable framework.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps with Jenkins or GitLab Runner.
• Define and promote quality-engineering best practices, standards, and policies at program level.
• Troubleshoot complex quality-engineering issues and use production data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Monitor, review, and support adherence to quality-assurance policies and procedures.




• Coordinate a mid-sized QA team working across multiple products.
• Partner with client and delivery stakeholders and act as a liaison between the quality-engineering team and stakeholder groups.
• Contribute to agile ceremonies and apply effective QA practices throughout the delivery lifecycle. Required Skills and Qualifications
• Solid hands-on experience in data testing with Python or PySpark.
• Deep understanding of data-testing concepts, with emphasis on ETL.
• Hands-on experience in ETL/DWH testing and SQL using an RDBMS.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle, including stored-procedure analysis and modification.
• Strong experience with BDD using Cucumber or a similar framework.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab Runner.
• Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages, such as Java or JavaScript.
• Strong problem-solving, data-analysis, and review skills.
• Knowledge of Jira and Zephyr for test management.
• Proficient software-testing experience in an agile environment. Additional Requirements
• Strong hands-on expertise in test automation and automation-framework design.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate professionally across technical, client, and business teams.
