FinOps Specialist Azure & AWS

Experience:
4 8 Years (Cloud FinOps experience preferred) Job Summary We are looking for an experienced FinOps Specialist with strong hands-on expertise in Azure and AWS cloud cost management, optimization, financial governance, and reporting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring cloud expenditure, identifying cost-saving opportunities, implementing optimization strategies, and improving cost visibility across both cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage and optimize cloud costs across Microsoft Azure and AWS environments.
• Analyze cloud usage, spending trends, and resource utilization to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Implement and optimize Azure Reserved Instances, Azure Savings Plans where applicable, Azure Hybrid Benefit, and Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) utilization.
• Analyze and optimize AWS Reserved Instances and Savings Plans, and use AWS Compute Optimizer recommendations to improve resource efficiency.
• Develop and maintain cloud cost dashboards, budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Configure budget alerts, spending thresholds, and anomaly detection mechanisms to identify unexpected cost increases.
• Establish and maintain tagging policies and governance standards for accurate cost allocation and resource tracking.
• Prepare chargeback and showback reports to allocate cloud expenditure across business units, projects, applications, and teams.
• Work with engineering, infrastructure, finance, and cloud operations teams to implement cost optimization recommendations.




• Monitor cost allocation, resource utilization, idle resources, and underutilized services across cloud environments.
• Use native cloud cost management tools and third-party FinOps platforms to improve cost visibility and reporting.
• Track optimization initiatives, savings achieved, and cloud spending against budgets and forecasts.
• Support FinOps governance, cost accountability, and continuous improvement of cloud financial operations. Mandatory Skills
• Hands-on experience in Azure and AWS cloud cost management and optimization.
• Solid knowledge of Azure Cost Management and AWS Cost Explorer.
• Experience analyzing and optimizing Reserved Instances and Savings Plans across Azure and AWS.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) and commitment utilization tracking.
• Experience with AWS Compute Optimizer and cloud resource optimization recommendations.
• Expertise in cloud cost dashboards, budgeting, forecasting, alerts, and anomaly detection.
• Experience with tagging governance, cost allocation, chargeback, and showback reporting.
• Proficiency in cloud cost analysis, reporting, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Experience with third-party FinOps tools is an added advantage. Preferred Qualifications
• FinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent cloud financial management certification.
• Familiarity with FinOps best practices and the FinOps Framework.
• Experience with Power BI, Excel, or similar tools for cost reporting and visualization.
• Knowledge of cloud usage patterns, resource sizing, and cost optimization strategies.
