- Bangalore / Pune Job Summary: Seeking an experienced AIX Administrator to support Infrastructure Migration and Transition projects. The role involves planning, building, migrating, and supporting IBM Power Systems running AIX, ensuring smooth transition of services from legacy environments to new platforms with minimal business impact. Required

Key Responsibilities
Migration Activities
· Plan and execute AIX server migrations, refreshes, and data center moves.
· Perform LPAR/WPAR, HACMP, GPFS hosts migrations,



application/database migrations, and OS upgrades.
· Build and configure recent VIO/AIX servers as per project requirements.
· Execute NIM-based OS deployments and migrations.
· Support migrations from legacy Power Systems to newer IBM Power platforms.
· Coordinate cutover, rollback, and validation activities. Transition Activities
· Participate in knowledge transfer (KT) sessions from incumbent vendors or customer teams.
· Review existing infrastructure, architecture, and operational procedures.
· Prepare transition documents, SOPs, runbooks, and support models.
· Assess risks, dependencies, and operational readiness during transition. Administration & Support
· Install, configure, patch, and maintain AIX operating systems.
· Manage LPARs, VIO Servers (VIOS), Shared Processor Pools, and HMC.
· Perform system performance tuning and capacity management.
· Configure SAN storage, MPIO, and Fiber Channel connectivity.
· Manage user administration, security compliance, and auditing.
· Troubleshoot OS, hardware, storage, and network-related issues.
· Support backup and recovery using enterprise backup solutions. High Availability & DR
· Administer PowerHA clusters.
· Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
· Perform failover and failback activities during migrations and DR exercises. Automation & Monitoring
· Develop shell scripts for automation and operational efficiency.
· Work with monitoring tools such as ITM, Tivoli, Geneos, BMC, or Netcool.
· Generate health-check and migration status reports.
