We are looking for a creative and execution-oriented intern who understands Indian crafts and textiles and can combine design skills with e-commerce expertise to help develop, market, and sell artisan-made products online. Role OverviewThis is a hybrid role combining craft and textile design, product development, and e-commerce operations. The candidate will work on developing new product collections, collaborating with artisans, researching market trends, creating product listings, and managing online sales channels. The ideal candidate should have an eye for design, an interest in Indian handicrafts, and the ability to turn creative ideas into commercially viable products. Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Craft & Textile Design
• Research Indian handicrafts, traditional textiles, embroidery, prints, weaving techniques, and regional art forms.
• Develop new designs, patterns, motifs, colour palettes, and product concepts.
• Assist in designing products across home decor, apparel, accessories, gifting, and lifestyle categories.
• Create mood boards, design references, sketches, and digital design mockups.
• Identify emerging design trends, consumer preferences, and opportunities for contemporary craft products.
• Work with artisans and craft clusters to translate design concepts into finished products.
• Help improve product quality, finishing, usability, packaging, and visual appeal.
• Maintain design catalogues, product specifications, and reference libraries. 2. Product Development & Merchandising
• Identify new products and categories with commercial potential.
• Assist in developing product samples and coordinating with artisans, vendors, and manufacturers.
• Research competitor products, pricing, materials, and market positioning.
• Help determine product pricing, margins, and suitable target customers.
• Maintain product databases, material details, dimensions, and inventory information.
• Support seasonal collections, festive launches, and customised product development. 3. E-commerce Management
• Create and manage product listings on the company’s website and relevant online marketplaces.
• Write compelling product titles, descriptions, specifications, and SEO-friendly content.




• Upload product photographs, organise product categories, and maintain accurate product information.
• Manage product catalogues, pricing, stock availability, and inventory updates.
• Research e-commerce trends, keywords, competitors, and best-selling products.
• Assist with order tracking, customer queries, returns, and coordination with the operations team.
• Identify opportunities to improve product visibility, conversion rates, and online sales. 4. Digital Content & Marketing
• Coordinate product photography, styling, and visual merchandising.
• Create basic creatives, banners, catalogues, and promotional materials using Canva or similar tools.
• Assist in developing content for Instagram, Pinterest, and other relevant platforms.
• Develop product stories highlighting artisans, craftsmanship, materials, heritage, and sustainability.
• Support festive campaigns, product launches, and promotional activities.
• Track engagement, website traffic, product performance, and sales metrics. Required Skills
• Interest in Indian handicrafts, textiles, fashion, lifestyle products, or sustainable design.
• Basic understanding of textile design, surface ornamentation, prints, embroidery, or craft techniques.
• Valuable visual sense, colour coordination, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in Canva and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Good written communication skills for product descriptions and online content.
• Willingness to learn e-commerce platforms, product listing, SEO, and digital merchandising.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and execute projects independently.
• A practical, entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on delivering measurable results. Preferred Skills
• Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or other design tools.
• Familiarity with Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, Etsy, or other e-commerce platforms.
• Experience in textile design, fashion design, craft design, product styling, or merchandising.
• Understanding of Indian artisan communities, handmade products, and traditional crafts.
• Familiarity with AI tools for design research, product ideation, and content creation.
• A portfolio of design projects, academic work, or personal creative projects. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)The intern will be evaluated on the following measurable outcomes: 1. Design & Product Development




• Research at least 20 new product ideas or design references per month.
• Develop at least 8–10 design concepts or product improvement proposals per month.
• Contribute to the development of at least 3–5 market-ready product concepts per month, depending on production feasibility. 2. E-commerce Operations
• Create or optimise at least 30–50 product listings per month, depending on product complexity and available catalogue data.
• Maintain at least 98% accuracy in product information, pricing, and catalogue updates.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned listing, merchandising, and inventory tasks. 3. Content & Marketing
• Create at least 12–15 product creatives, visual assets, or product stories per month.
• Conduct monthly competitor and trend research.
• Track product performance and recommend at least 3 actionable improvements per month. KPIs will be adjusted according to the intern’s
