JOB DESCRIPTION - COMMODITY BUSINESS HEAD

1. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- We are looking for a senior commodity professional who has spent 12-18 years working in a commodity broking outfit.
- This is a hands-on business-building role. The person must know the commodity market from the desk, the clients and the physical market.
- The candidate should have robust experience in:

Agri commodities, base metals and precious metals.
Commodity broking, trading and hedging.
Physical delivery and commodity-market processes.
¢ Commodity arbitrage and market-making setups.
¢ Exchange and clearing corporation relationships.
¢ Commodity quality, specifications and regulatory requirements.
The person will be based in Mumbai and will take ownership of the commodity business at Kunvarji Wealth.

2. BUSINESS & MARKET RESPONSIBILITIES
¢ Build the commodity business from scratch and grow existing relationships.
¢ Bring in genuine commodity clients, hedgers and market participants.
¢ Bring, develop & build strong relationships with mandis, jewellers, bullion dealers, scrap traders and metal associations.
¢ Build a network of corporate commodity users and physical-market participants.
¢ Understand the trading and hedging requirements of each client segment.
¢ Identify opportunities in physical and trading arbitrage.
¢ Build commodity business across agri, metals and precious metals.
¢ Develop the business with mass affluent, HNI and other relevant client segments.

3. DESK & PRODUCT EXPERTISE
The candidate must have actual experience running or managing a commodity desk.
¢ Commodity trading desk operations and end-to-end client servicing.




¢ Commodity exchange and clearing processes.
¢ Physical delivery setups and related operational processes.
¢ Commodity quality, grades, specifications and delivery requirements.
¢ Commodity hedging, futures and options strategies.
¢ Physical-market and exchange-market arbitrage.
¢ Commodity market-making setups, wherever experienced.
¢ Product knowledge across agri, metals and bullion / silver
¢ Understanding of commodity and currency hedgers and their requirements.
¢ Regulatory and risk understanding of commodity broking.

4. TEAM & BUSINESS OWNERSHIP
This is an P&L; responsibility role with ownership of the commodity business.
¢ Build and manage a commodity team under the candidate.
¢ Hire RMs, dealers and servicing staff as the business grows.
¢ Set up a dedicated dealing and end-to-end commodity servicing desk.
¢ Own client acquisition, relationships, business revenue and desk operations.
¢ Work closely with dealing, RMS, operations, compliance and management.
¢ Build the team and processes required to scale the business.
¢ Proven PNL leadership in commodities & currency segment

5. WHAT WILL NOT WORK
This role is not for an equity-and-commodity generalist.
¢ Pure trading experience without actual commodity client networks will not work.
¢ Equity-led profiles with limited commodity-market depth will not work.
¢ People without genuine hedger and physical-market relationships will not work.
¢ Experience limited to screen trading without physical delivery knowledge will not work.
¢ Candidates without practical commodity desk and exchange-process experience will not work.
¢ Generic sales profiles without a commodity-market network will not work.
