Jo b Role- Z/OS System Programmer

Experience- 6 to 15 Years

Location- Pune/ Bengaluru

Key Responsibilities

- Operating System & Software Management: Install, customize, and upgrade z/OS, ISV/vendor products, and RSU (Recommended Service Update) maintenance using SMP/E or z/OSMF.
- System Customization: Manage system libraries and parameters in PARMLIB (such as APF, LNKLST, LPA, and SVC).
- Performance & Capacity: Monitor system health, tune performance (using tools like OMEGAMON or RMF), and assist with capacity planning.
- Security & Availability: Support security administration (RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret), manage Parallel Sysplex high-availability environments, and participate in on-call support rotations.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose system crashes, analyze dumps (SVC dumps, system logs),



and apply program temporary fixes (PTFs).
- Modernization: Integrate z/OS with up-to-date DevOps pipelines, Z/CD, Ansible, and REST APIs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Core Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of z/OS architecture, JCL, ISPF / TSO, SDSF, and SMP/E.
- Scripting & Utilities: Proficiency in REXX, CLIST, and IBM basic utilities (IDCAMS, IEFBR14).
- Subsystems & Networking: Familiarity with JES2/JES3, VTAM, TCP/IP, VSAM, and UNIX System Services (USS).
- Education & Experience: Typically a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
