- Maintaining boiler pressure, temperature, and water levels

- Checking fuel systems (coal, oil, gas, or biomass)

- Performing routine inspections and safety checks

- Responding to alarms and abnormal conditions

- Assisting senior (1st Class/Chief) operators during shifts

- Recording log readings and maintenance data
