Job Summary

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced CMM Engineer to join our Quality team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining our Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure all manufactured components meet strict geometric, dimensional, and customer specifications. You will play a vital role in upholding our high standards of precision and supporting our continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- CMM Programming: Develop, optimize, and execute offline and online CMM measurement programs using [PC-DMIS / Zeiss Calypso / Mitutoyo MCOSMOS - Choose applicable software] from 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Dimensional Inspection: Perform First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process inspection, and final buy-off of high-precision components.
- GD&T; Interpretation: Correctly interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) principles according to ASME Y14.5 or ISO standards.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze inspection data, generate comprehensive dimensional reports, and present findings to production and engineering teams.
- Calibration & Maintenance: Perform daily/weekly CMM qualification, probe calibration, and routine machine maintenance to ensure measurement accuracy and minimize downtime.
- Quality Documentation:



Support PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis), and GR&R; (Gauge R&R;) studies.
- Root Cause Analysis: Assist in investigating non-conformances (NCR), customer complaints, and quality issues, recommending corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Fixture Design: Conceptualize and design efficient holding fixtures to ensure repeatable and secure component alignment during inspection.

Job Requirements

- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metrology, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of [2–5] years of hands-on experience in CMM programming and dimensional inspection within a high-precision manufacturing environment (e.g., Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Devices, or Semiconductors).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in [PC-DMIS / Calypso / MCOSMOS] software is mandatory.
- Solid commands of GD&T; concepts and blueprint reading.
- Familiarity with standard metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100 quality management systems is highly advantageous.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Languages: Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to speak Mandarin/Cantonese is an added advantage.
