Job Description : Shift In-Charge (CPP)

Designation : Asst. Manager
Department: Captive Power Plant (CPP) | Industry: Cement Manufacturing
1. Job Purpose
To ensure safe, reliable, and productive operation of the Captive Power Plant (CPP) during the assigned shift, maintaining uninterrupted power generation and optimizing plant performance.
2. Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and control boiler, turbine, generator, and auxiliary equipment operations.
- Ensure optimum power generation, steam parameters, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor DCS parameters and take corrective action in case of abnormalities.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Production teams for smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, permit-to-work, and LOTO procedures.
- Identify operational issues and coordinate with maintenance teams for timely resolution.
- Monitor fuel consumption, auxiliary power consumption,



and equipment performance.
- Maintain shift logs, generation reports, and operational records.
- Supervise shift operators and technicians and ensure proper shift handover.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and statutory requirements.

3. Educational Qualification
Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
4. Experience
5 - 10 years of relevant experience in CPP operations, preferably in the cement manufacturing industry, with hands-on experience in boiler, turbine, generator, and DCS operations.
