Role Summary:

Responsible for strategic sourcing, procurement, costing, and supplier management of BOF and forgings to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, and timely availability of components.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement sourcing strategies for BOF and forging components aligned with business requirements.
2. Manage end-to-end procurement activities, ensuring timely supply and adherence to technical specifications.
3. Prepare and validate cost estimates based on raw materials, manufacturing processes, machining, and other cost elements.
4. Analyse supplier quotations, conduct cost benchmarking, and negotiate competitive prices and commercial terms.
5. Identify cost reduction opportunities through value engineering, supplier development, and process optimisation.
6. Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers to ensure quality, cost competitiveness, and reliable delivery.
7. Coordinate with Design, Quality, Planning, Manufacturing, and Finance teams to meet business requirements.
8. Monitor supplier performance, purchase price variations, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
9. Monitor inventory levels,



optimise stock holding, and ensure material availability while minimising excess and obsolete inventory.
10. Prepare procurement budgets, cost analysis, savings reports, and MIS, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and continuous improvement in sourcing efficiency.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Qualification: B.E. in Mechanical / Production Engineering; MBA in Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.

Experience: Relevant experience in procurement and sourcing of BOF, forgings, and engineering components in a manufacturing organisation.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of BOF and forging processes, cost estimation, should-cost analysis, material specifications, and technical drawings.

Functional Competencies: Expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier development, commercial negotiations, inventory management, cost optimisation, and supply chain management.

Industry Preference: Experience in valves, heavy engineering, industrial equipment, or automotive manufacturing.
