Responsibilities

- Design, implement, manage, and maintain MySQL databases across development, testing, and production environments.
- Optimize complex SQL queries, joins, subqueries, and stored procedures to improve application performance.
- Analyze execution plans using Explain and Explain Analyze to identify performance bottlenecks.
- Design and optimize indexes, including composite and covering indexes, to minimize query execution time and database resource utilization.
- Identify and resolve slow queries, full table scans, locking, blocking, deadlocks, and inefficient database access patterns.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, CPU, memory, disk I/O, connections, and storage utilization.
- Implement and maintain backup, recovery, replication, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
- Perform database upgrades, migrations, schema changes, capacity planning, and data archiving.
- Implement database security, access controls, auditing, and data protection best practices.
