Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Purchase In-Charge with a background in manufacturing, preferably in the leather goods industry, including bags, wallets, and small leather goods (SLG). The candidate will be responsible for purchase order management, material planning, vendor coordination, timely material delivery, inventory control, and cost savings.

- Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and issue purchase orders within 4 days of indent completion.
- Handle material requisitions and purchase all non-GRN items.
- Ensure timely receipt of bulk materials within 3 days of the committed PO delivery date.
- Coordinate with Merchandising and other departments to ensure NPD materials arrive as per approved timelines.
- Ensure packing materials arrive just in time, no earlier than 15 days before the planned dispatch date.
- Maintain accurate and complete JRC (Job Requirement/related purchase documentation, as applicable) records and supporting documents on a daily basis.
- Coordinate the return of rejected materials within 5 days of material inward.
- Negotiate with vendors to maximise material cost savings against planned costs.
- Monitor and control material inventory,



maintaining an inventory cycle of no more than 45 days.
- Identify and onboard current vendors only when they offer cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate with Merchandising, Stores, Production, and Accounts teams for smooth material procurement.
- Maintain purchase reports, vendor records, delivery schedules, and other required documentation.
- Required SkillsStrong knowledge of purchase planning, purchase orders (POs), and work orders (WOs).
- Vendor management, negotiation, and cost-analysis skills.
- Knowledge of inventory management, material inward, and GRN processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ownership of purchase activities.
- Qualification & ExperienceGraduate or Diploma in Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in purchase, procurement, or materials management in a manufacturing setup.
- Experience in leather goods manufacturing, particularly bags, wallets, and small leather goods (SLG), is preferred.
- Candidates with experience in material planning, vendor negotiations, and purchase cost control will be preferred.
