Role Description The VMC/HMC Operator will be responsible for operating and monitoring Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) and Horizontal Machining Centers (HMC) to produce precision components as per engineering drawings and process sheets. Day-to-day tasks include machine setup, loading and unloading workpieces, selecting and changing tools, and adjusting machining parameters to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, performing basic measurements and inspections,



recording production data, and coordinating with quality and maintenance teams to resolve issues.

The operator will also be expected to follow safety standards, maintain cleanliness of the machine and work area, and support continuous improvement initiatives in the shop floor. This is a full-time, in office role based at Shayona Engineering’s manufacturing facilities in Vadodara.

Qualifications

- Ability to operate VMC and HMC machines, including setup, tool selection, and parameter adjustment for precision manufacturing.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, process sheets, and basic CNC program information.
- Skilled in using measurement instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify component quality.
- Knowledge of basic machining processes, cutting tools, materials, and shop floor practices relevant to CNC/VMC/HMC operations.
- Understanding of safety protocols, housekeeping standards, and safe handling of machines, tools, and materials.
- Minimum ITI/Diploma in Mechanical or relevant trade; prior experience as a VMC/HMC Operator in an engineering or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to work in a team, follow instructions, meet production targets, and adapt to shift-based working schedules if required.
- Basic computer literacy for recording production data and interacting with CNC control interfaces; familiarity with ISO and quality systems is an added advantage.
