Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Telecom Engineer specializing in Oil & Gas to join our team at Cyient, Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of telecommunication systems and networks crucial for efficient and safe operations within the oil and gas sector.

Job Responsibilities:

Design, plan, and implement telecommunication infrastructure and systems for oil and gas facilities, including offshore platforms, onshore production sites, pipelines, and refineries.

Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and technical evaluations to determine telecommunication requirements and optimal solutions.

Develop detailed engineering designs, specifications, and bills of materials for various telecom systems, such as PAGA (Public Address and General Alarm), PABX/IP Telephony, CCTV, Access Control, Radio (VHF/UHF/PMR/TETRA), Microwave, Satellite Communication, Fiber Optic networks, and Industrial Ethernet.

Perform network architecture design, IP addressing schemes, and security considerations for critical operational networks.

Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of telecom equipment and systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations.

Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for existing telecommunication systems, resolving issues promptly to minimize operational downtime.

Collaborate with project managers, clients, vendors,



and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of telecommunication solutions within larger project scopes.

Develop and review technical documentation, including system diagrams, operational manuals, and maintenance procedures.

Stay abreast of emerging telecommunication technologies and industry best practices relevant to the oil and gas sector.

Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, regulations, and company policies.

Job Qualifications:**

Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in telecommunications engineering within the oil and gas industry.

Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining a wide range of telecommunication systems relevant to oil and gas operations (e.g., PAGA, PABX/IP Telephony, CCTV, Radio, Microwave, Satellite, Fiber Optics).

Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, MPLS, VLANs) and network security principles.

Familiarity with industry standards and regulations applicable to telecommunications in hazardous environments (e.g., ATEX, IECEx, API).

Proficiency in using engineering design software and tools relevant to telecommunications.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Robust communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced project environment.

Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
