Grade: Technical Director

Role purpose

- Lead the technical delivery and reputation of Egis's data centre electrical design offer across India
- Act as the senior electrical authority on hyperscale and colocation programmes, from concept through to handover
- Combine technical leadership with client engagement, bid support and P&L; accountability

Key responsibilities

- Provide electrical discipline leadership on hyperscale and colocation data centre projects
- Set and uphold design standards, QA/QC and technical governance
- Lead client presentations, design reviews and technical interviews at senior level
- Support bids and proposals, including strategy, scope, resourcing and fee build up
- Own P&L; performance for the electrical discipline: utilisation, margin, forecasting and resource planning
- Coach, mentor and develop senior engineers and team leads
- Work with BIM and digital teams to drive coordinated, efficient delivery
- Build relationships with hyperscalers, colocation operators, developers, utilities and contractors

Discipline focus: Electrical

- Medium and low voltage distribution for hyperscale and colocation facilities
- Utility and grid interface, including substations and power procurement strategy




- Standby power, UPS, battery energy storage and generator strategy
- Resilience topologies (N+1, 2N, distributed redundant) and high power density design
- Energy efficiency and input to testing and commissioning
- Coordination with mechanical, architecture, structure and BIM teams

Essential experience and skills

- 18+ years in electrical engineering, with 8+ years in data centres
- Proven delivery of hyperscale and colocation facilities, ideally multi site and multi region
- Prior experience at Director, Associate Director or Technical Director level
- Track record of managing a P&L; or significant commercial responsibility
- Excellent presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills, comfortable with C level and client stakeholders
- Strong coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams, with a working knowledge of BIM
- Chartered or professionally qualified engineer (CEng or equivalent), registered with a relevant qualified body
- Degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline

- Middle East data centre experience
- Experience working on international or multicultural teams
- Experience building or scaling a data centre practice
