About the Role

You will own the embedded architecture across our hardware programmes: UAV/drone platforms, SMT (pick-and-place) machines, and an upcoming robotics programme. You will set the technical direction, lead a cross-functional team of embedded and software engineers, and take products from R&D; prototype to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the system architecture for each programme: compute, sensors, actuators, power and communication.

• Set common hardware and firmware platforms so that the programmes can reuse modules.





• Lead firmware design on MCUs and SoCs (STM32, ARM Cortex-M/A, NVIDIA Jetson or similar), using RTOS and embedded Linux.

• Supervise flight control, motor control, motion control and sensor-fusion work, including PX4/ArduPilot, BLDC/servo drives and IMU/GNSS/vision.

• Integrate imaging and edge-AI payloads with the control systems.

• Own design reviews, HW–SW interface specs, test strategy and HIL/SIL setups.

• Drive DFM, reliability, EMI/EMC and certification readiness (DGCA drone rules where applicable).

• Mentor engineers, plan roadmaps and coordinate with vendors and component suppliers.

Must Have

• Strong C/C++. Deep knowledge of RTOS (FreeRTOS/Zephyr/NuttX) and embedded Linux (Yocto/Buildroot).

• Hands-on experience with control systems: PID, motor control, kinematics or flight dynamics.

• Peripheral and bus knowledge: CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, USB and MAVLink/ROS 2.

• Can read schematics and work closely with PCB designers.

• A track record of taking at least one embedded product from concept to production.

Valuable to Have

• UAV, robotics or industrial automation background.

• Experience with ROS 2, computer vision, thermal/EO imaging or edge AI (TensorRT, OpenCV).

• Knowledge of functional safety or security (secure boot, OTA).
