Role Description

This is a part-time, work-from-home, unpaid volunteer role for a Senior FastAPI Engineer. The engineer will design, develop, and maintain FastAPI-based backend services that support core platforms and tools used in delivering wellness and sanitation solutions. Day-to-day tasks include architecting APIs, implementing secure and scalable endpoints, integrating with databases and embedded systems, writing clean and testable code, and debugging issues across development and production environments.

The role also involves collaborating with other volunteers and stakeholders, participating in code reviews, improving documentation, and contributing to overall technical strategy aligned with the organization’s social mission. This is a remote role, offering flexibility while requiring reliable availability for virtual meetings and coordinated project work.

Qualifications

- Strong backend Software Development experience,



including API design and implementation using FastAPI or similar Python frameworks.
- Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and general Programming concepts, with a focus on writing modular, maintainable code.
- Solid Debugging skills, including troubleshooting performance, reliability, and integration issues in distributed systems.
- Exposure to Embedded Systems or integration between backend services and hardware or IoT devices.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and database technologies (SQL or NoSQL), plus version control tools such as Git.
- Comfort working in a voluntary, remote, and collaborative environment, with clear communication and documentation practices.
- Prior experience in social impact, public health, or non-profit technology projects is beneficial but not required.
- Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.

- Looking for someone with 5 to 30 years of experience to lead a team of engineers ( volunteers).
- Must be hands on.
- You. will work on a fundraising project for The Tann Mann Foundation with react js as frontend and fast API as backend.
