Job Overview

AltEdge is looking for a proactive and target-driven Sales Engineer to develop new business opportunities and expand its fastener supply business across Chennai and nearby industrial clusters.

The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B field sales, strong customer acquisition skills, and the ability to build relationships with purchase, sourcing, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and develop new business opportunities with OEMs, Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers, EPC contractors, and industrial buyers.

Build and maintain a strong prospect pipeline across Chennai, Sriperumbudur, Oragadam, Ambattur, Guindy, Hosur, and other industrial clusters.

Conduct daily cold calls, customer visits, and meetings with key decision-makers.

Present AltEdge’s fastener and industrial component sourcing capabilities, pricing, and delivery solutions to prospective customers.

Understand customer requirements, technical drawings, specifications, BOMs, fastener grades, coatings, and IS/DIN/ISO standards.

Generate RFQs (Requests for Quotation) and coordinate with internal sourcing and costing teams to prepare competitive quotations.

Follow up on quotations,



negotiate commercial terms, and convert opportunities into purchase orders.

Coordinate samples, product approvals, and initial orders with internal operations and manufacturing partners.

Maintain accurate records of customer visits, sales pipeline, RFQs, quotations, and order conversions in the CRM.

Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets, including customer meetings, RFQ generation, conversion rates, and order value.

Monitor competitor activities, market trends, pricing, and emerging business opportunities.

Desired Candidate Profile

B.E./B.Tech, MBA, or a degree in Production, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

1–5 years of experience in B2B field sales, preferably in fasteners, industrial components, hardware, metal products, or manufacturing.

Proven experience in lead generation, cold calling, RFQ management, commercial negotiations, and order closure.

Existing relationships with purchase, sourcing, or engineering teams in Chennai’s automotive, engineering, or infrastructure sectors will be an advantage.

Solid communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.

Proficiency in Tamil and English; Hindi is an added advantage.

Willingness to travel regularly across Chennai and nearby industrial locations.

Self-motivated, commercially driven, and comfortable working in a target-oriented environment.
