As we continue to expand our presence and strengthen our airfreight business in Bangalore, we are looking for a commercially driven and experienced professional to join our team.

This role will be responsible for airfreight pricing, commercial support, airline procurement, capacity planning, market analysis and business development support. The successful candidate will work closely with airlines, GSA partners, overseas agents, customers, sales and operations teams to secure competitive rates and capacity while maintaining service quality and profitability.

The position will play an important role in supporting Airsteam's growth in the Bangalore market and developing strong relationships with airline and logistics partners.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing & Commercial Support

- Prepare timely and accurate airfreight quotations, spot rates, tender responses and pricing proposals based on customer requirements.
- Obtain and analyse airline, GSA, co-loader and overseas-agent rates.
- Analyse carrier rates, surcharges, routings, transit times, service levels and market conditions to recommend competitive solutions.
- Maintain updated buy rates, sell rates, rate sheets, validity periods and pricing records.
- Validate cost components and commercial assumptions and identify margin risks.
- Work closely with the Sales and Customer Experience teams to understand customer requirements and provide suitable pricing and routing solutions.
- Support the commercial team with airfreight pricing strategy, routing selection, customer meetings and sales visits.
- Provide basic airfreight product and pricing knowledge to the sales and operations teams.
- Provide regular market tariff updates, market analysis and commercial reports.
- Support tenders, RFQs, spot quotations and key customer pricing requirements.





Capacity Planning & Airline Procurement
- Forecast airfreight demand by lane, customer, product and period.
- Coordinate with airlines, GSA partners, gateways and internal stakeholders to secure competitive rates and suitable capacity.
- Negotiate regular and ad-hoc capacity with airline and supplier partners.
- Monitor capacity utilization, allotment performance, booking patterns and under-utilization risks.
- Recommend corrective actions to improve space utilization and profitability.
- Optimize routing, carrier mix, consolidation planning and space allocation.
- Maintain regular communication with airline and GSA partners regarding capacity outlook, peak periods, operational constraints and recovery options.
- Develop and maintain strong commercial relationships with airline and logistics partners.

Sales & Business Development Support
- Work closely with the Sales team to develop recent airfreight business opportunities in Bangalore.
- Support customer acquisition and retention through competitive pricing and customized logistics solutions.
- Participate in customer visits and commercial meetings when required.
- Identify new airline, GSA, co-loader and overseas-agent opportunities.
- Develop competitive solutions for key trade lanes and customer requirements.
- Monitor competitor pricing and market developments.
- Support management in developing Airsteam's Bangalore airfreight business and revenue.

Performance, Governance & Improvement
- Track quotation turnaround time, win/loss performance, margins, capacity utilization and airline performance.
- Prepare weekly and monthly pricing, revenue, volume and market reports.
- Monitor carrier service reliability and commercial performance.
- Investigate pricing discrepancies, capacity shortfalls and service exceptions.
- Ensure pricing and procurement activities comply with Airsteam's internal approval and documentation procedures.




- Maintain accurate pricing and commercial information in the company's systems.
- Identify and implement improvements in pricing workflows, forecasting, data visibility and stakeholder coordination.

What We Are Looking For

- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Aviation, Commerce, Economics or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in airfreight pricing, airline cargo, procurement, capacity planning, freight forwarding or logistics.
- Experience in preparing quotations, tenders and working with airline/GSA rates, routings, surcharges and capacity.
- Strong understanding of airfreight and freight forwarding processes.
- Experience dealing with airlines, GSAs, co-loaders, overseas agents and customers is preferred.
- Experience with freight forwarding or transportation management systems; Cargo Wise or similar platforms will be an advantage.
- Strong numerical, analytical and commercial decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with pricing models, reports and structured datasets.
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to understand market trends, capacity constraints, cost drivers and margin implications.
- Ability to manage multiple quotations and commercial requirements within tight deadlines.
- Strong customer-focused and business-development mindset.
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings, airline meetings and business development activities when required.
