Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Plant & Machinery Engineer to manage construction equipment, machinery maintenance, equipment availability, and operational efficiency at construction project sites. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and timely maintenance of plant and machinery to support smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the operation, maintenance, and servicing of construction plant and machinery at project sites.
- Ensure the availability and efficient utilization of construction equipment, including excavators, cranes, batching plants, concrete pumps, loaders, generators, compressors, and other heavy equipment.
- Prepare preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all plant and machinery.
- Monitor equipment breakdowns and coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure minimum downtime.
- Maintain equipment records, service history, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, equipment operators, vendors, and service providers.
- Monitor fuel consumption, equipment utilization, operating costs, and maintenance expenses.
- Inspect equipment to ensure protected operating conditions and compliance with applicable safety requirements.
- Coordinate equipment mobilization, demobilization, installation, and commissioning at project sites.
- Ensure timely availability of spare parts, lubricants, tools, and other maintenance materials.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend repairs, replacements, or upgrades as required.




- Coordinate with procurement and stores teams for spare parts and maintenance requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation of equipment deployment, rental equipment, service contracts, and vendor bills.
- Support project planning teams in identifying machinery requirements based on construction schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, statutory requirements, and equipment safety standards.

Required Skills

- 4–8 years of experience in plant and machinery management in construction or infrastructure projects.
- Good knowledge of construction equipment, heavy machinery, and mechanical maintenance.
- Experience in preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of equipment utilization, fuel management, spare parts planning, and maintenance cost control.
- Ability to coordinate with site teams, equipment operators, vendors, and contractors.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and equipment maintenance reporting.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Educational Qualifications

- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Relevant experience in plant and machinery operations and maintenance within a construction company is preferred.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in high-rise buildings, commercial buildings, highways, bridges, metro rail, airports, or other infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance, equipment deployment, and fleet management.
- Experience with equipment rental management and maintenance cost optimization.
