Role Overview

Sri City is seeking an experienced MEP Engineer to oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing and firefighting works across its construction and infrastructure projects.

The role involves design coordination, site supervision, contractor management, testing and commissioning, ensuring that works meet approved timelines, budgets, quality and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Design Coordination

- Review MEP drawings, specifications and equipment layouts with consultants and project teams.
- Coordinate HVAC, electrical, water supply, drainage and firefighting services with architectural and structural works.
- Identify service clashes and site constraints, and resolve them before execution.
- Check equipment locations, service routes and access for maintenance.
- Prepare work schedules and track progress against the overall project plan.

Site Execution and Quality

- Supervise MEP installations in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with civil teams for openings, sleeves, equipment foundations and service connections.
- Monitor contractor manpower, materials and progress to ensure timely completion.
- Inspect materials and completed works, identify defects and ensure corrective action.
- Ensure contractors follow site safety procedures.

- Contractor and Procurement Coordination

- Prepare or review bills of quantities, estimates and material requirements.
- Evaluate contractor proposals, equipment selections and technical submissions.
- Coordinate procurement and delivery of approved materials and equipment.




- Verify site measurements, completed quantities and contractor bills.
- Review additional works and highlight their cost and schedule implications.

Testing and Handover

- Coordinate testing and commissioning with contractors, consultants and equipment suppliers.
- Prepare snag lists and ensure closure of pending works.
- Verify as-built drawings, test reports, operating manuals and warranties.
- Coordinate handover and operational training with the Facilities team.

Documentation and Reporting

- Maintain drawing revisions, inspection records, material approvals and progress reports.
- Highlight delays, technical issues and budget deviations to the project head.
- Support statutory inspections and approvals with the relevant consultants.
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, water conservation and easier maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Preferably 5-8 years of relevant experience in MEP coordination and execution.
- Experience in industrial facilities, commercial buildings, institutional campuses, townships or infrastructure projects.
- Practical exposure to HVAC, electrical, plumbing and firefighting systems.
- Experience in contractor supervision, billing verification, testing, commissioning and handover.

Essential Skills

- Solid knowledge of MEP installations, construction sequencing and quality checks.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and bills of quantities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel and project reporting.
- Good technical problem-solving, planning and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple contractors and work fronts.
