Job Title: Lead FPGA & Hardware Engineer – DO-254 & Video Processing (Aerospace Displays)
Location: Bengaluru
Experience: 7+ years
About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA & Hardware Development Expert to drive the next generation of aerospace display systems. In this role, you will architect, design, and verify safety-critical video processing pipelines for flight deck displays, ensuring rigorous compliance with airborne electronic hardware standards.
If you have a deep understanding of DO-254 workflows, advanced video processing architectures, and high-reliability FPGA development, we want you to help us build the visual systems that pilots rely on in the most critical moments of flight.
Key Responsibilities
- FPGA Architecture & RTL Design: Architect, design, and implement complex video processing algorithms (scaling, blending, graphics overlays, rendering) on FPGA/SoC platforms targeting aerospace multi-function displays (MFDs) and Head-Up Displays (HUDs).
- DO-254 Compliance (DAL A/B): Lead the hardware lifecycle process from requirements capture to certification. Author and review critical artifacts including the Plan for Hardware Aspects of Certification (PHAC), Hardware Requirements Specification (HRS), and Hardware Verification Plan (HVP).
- Hardware Verification & Validation: Drive rigorous verification strategies using SystemVerilog/UVM. Develop comprehensive testbenches, perform RTL simulation, ensure code/functional coverage, and execute hardware-level testing.
- Video/Display Interfaces: Implement and integrate high-speed digital video protocols such as ARINC 818 (Avionics Digital Video Bus), DisplayPort, HDMI, and MIPI within safety-critical environments.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate tightly with Systems,
Software (DO-178C), and Systems Safety (ARP4754A) teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration and system-level validation.
Required Qualifications
- Education: B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in FPGA/ASIC design and verification using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
- Aerospace Standards: Proven, full-lifecycle experience executing programs to RTCA DO-254 standards (DAL A or B strongly preferred).
- Video Processing Expertise: Deep knowledge of video pipelines, pixel processing, frame buffering, latency minimization, and display driving technologies.
- Verification Mastery: Robust background in advanced functional verification techniques (UVM/OVM) and timing closure.
- Tools: Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Vivado, Quartus, QuestaSim, ModelSim, VCS).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ARINC 818, ARINC 664, or MIL-STD-1553 protocols.
- Familiarity with requirements traceability tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama).
- Background in board-level hardware design, PCB schematics review, and high-speed signal integrity.
Why Join Us? You will be at the forefront of aviation safety and technology, working on mission-critical systems that shape the future of aerospace. We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a culture that champions engineering excellence.
