Qualification: B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering with M.Tech in Irrigation Engineering

Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in planning and designing major, medium and minor irrigation projects.
2. Carry out rainfall-runoff analysis, water availability assessment and irrigation water demand calculations.
3. Assist in hydraulic design of canals, distributaries, minors and irrigation structures.
4. Support planning and design of pumping systems, pipelines and irrigation distribution networks.
5. Assess Gross Command Area (GCA), Culturable Command Area (CCA), cropping patterns and irrigation potential.
6. Prepare feasibility reports, Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), technical calculations, BOQs and cost estimates.
7. Prepare catchment maps, command area maps and irrigation network layouts using GIS.
8. Support site inspections, data collection,
survey verification and coordination with government departments.
9. Prepare design reports, drawings, project presentations and technical submissions.
Required Technical Skills
- Knowledge of irrigation engineering, hydrology and hydraulic design.
- Understanding of canal irrigation, lift irrigation and pressurised irrigation systems.
- Experience in crop water requirement calculations and irrigation scheduling.
- Knowledge of DPR preparation, BOQ and cost estimation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, QGIS/ArcGIS, MS Excel.
- Working knowledge of CROPWAT, HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS preferred.
- Familiarity with CWC guidelines, BIS codes and relevant irrigation design standards.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with 3–5 years of on ground project experience in irrigation planning, hydraulic design, command area development, lift irrigation schemes and DPR preparation for government or infrastructure consultancy projects will be preferred.
