Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Head of Production – BESS Manufacturing to lead and oversee manufacturing operations for Battery Energy Storage Systems at our

Ahmedabad facility. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience in manufacturing and production management, preferably in BESS, battery pack manufacturing, lithium-ion battery systems, electrical equipment, or related industries.

The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end production planning and execution,

manufacturing process development, product quality, resource optimization, team leadership, and continuous improvement to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality BESS products in accordance with technical specifications and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- BESS Manufacturing Operations: Lead end-to-end manufacturing and assembly of

Battery Energy Storage Systems, including battery modules and packs, battery enclosures, electrical integration, and associated subsystems, as applicable to the product design.
- Production Planning & Execution: Develop production plans, schedules, capacity plans, and targets to ensure timely execution and delivery of manufacturing orders.
- Manufacturing Process Development: Establish and standardize assembly processes,

work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and production workflows.
- Battery System Integration: Coordinate manufacturing and integration activities involving Battery Management Systems (BMS), power conversion systems (PCS),

thermal management, electrical protection, and auxiliary systems, as applicable.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop production engineers, supervisors, technicians, and shop-floor personnel to achieve operational and quality objectives.
- Process Optimization:



Identify production bottlenecks, improve cycle times, minimize material wastage, and enhance manufacturing productivity.
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams to ensure product conformity, traceability, inspection compliance, and reduction of defects and rework.
- Safety Management: Ensure adherence to battery handling, electrical safety, ESD controls where applicable, fire prevention, and other relevant manufacturing safety procedures.
- Resource & Capacity Management: Optimize manpower, equipment, tools, production capacity, and material utilization to achieve manufacturing targets.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with Procurement, Stores,

Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure the timely availability of battery cells,

electrical components, enclosures, cables, and other production materials.

- Testing & Validation Coordination: Coordinate with Engineering and Quality teams for functional testing, inspection, and production acceptance of manufactured BESS units.
- Cost Control: Monitor manufacturing costs, reduce scrap and rework, and improve overall operational efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish and track KPIs related to production output, yield,

cycle time, rejection rates, equipment downtime, and on-time delivery.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D;, Design Engineering,

Quality, Procurement, Maintenance, and Project teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and support new product introduction.
- Management Reporting: Present production performance, capacity utilization, quality trends, resource requirements, and improvement plans to senior management.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Production

Engineering, or a related technical discipline.




- Minimum 15 years of experience in manufacturing and production management,

preferably with substantial experience in BESS, battery systems, or electrical equipment manufacturing.
- Proven experience in leading factory operations and managing end-to-end manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of battery pack assembly, electrical integration, manufacturing workflows, and production quality requirements.
- Familiarity with BMS, PCS, battery enclosures, thermal management, and associated electrical subsystems.
- Experience in production planning, capacity management, process optimization, and cost control.
- Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems, product traceability, inspection procedures,

and relevant safety requirements.
- Experience in implementing production KPIs, lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Solid leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Skills & Industry Experience
- Hands-on experience in BESS manufacturing, lithium-ion battery pack assembly, battery energy storage integration, or battery system production.
- Experience in electrical panels, switchgear, power electronics, UPS, inverters, or industrial electrical equipment manufacturing.
- Exposure to new product introduction (NPI), design-for-manufacturing (DFM), and production process validation.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, manufacturing documentation, and production reporting tools.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with R&D;, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Stores,

and Supply Chain teams.
