We are looking for a detail-oriented GL Accounting Associate with hands-on experience in US GAAP accounting, General Ledger management, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting. The candidate will support the US accounting team and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with US accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with US GAAP.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual General Ledger close activities.
- Conduct balance sheet and bank account reconciliations.
- Analyze GL accounts and resolve discrepancies or unusual variances.
- Support accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting and audits.
- Maintain accounting records and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather accounting information and resolve issues.
- Assist with external and internal audit requests.
- Support process improvement initiatives and documentation of accounting procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
- 1–4 years of experience in General Ledger accounting, preferably supporting US entities.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, etc.).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and meet strict deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a shared services/BPO/KPO environment supporting US clients.
- Exposure to month-end close and financial statement preparation.
- CPA/CMA pursuing or equivalent certification is a plus.
